A historical priory, garden and country estate.
The requirement was to design and install a sustainable energy solution as part of the National Trust’s Renewable Energy Investment Programme.
Baystar installed two 101kW biomass boilers alongside district heating scheme to provide heating and hot water to the mansion and stable buildings. The project itself involved using our expertise in historic buildings, and working closely with an archeologist, to sympathetically convert the listed cart shed into a state-of-the art boiler room facility. This houses the two boilers and a fuel store, and the plan is for the biomass boilers to burn the estate’s waste woodland as fuel.
