Hinksey Pool

Baystar were employed to design, supply and install a water source heat pump solution to heat the outdoor lido within Hinksey Park, Oxford. Being an old water works from the 1960’s, there was an abundance of water in close proximity to the pool. We therefore installed a large collector within Hinksey Lake with manifolds on the edge of the lake and header pipes running back to the new heat pump locations within the pool basement plant room where we supplied and install four 100kW heat pumps. A new BMS system was installed to control the heat pumps along with new power supplies. These heat pumps are now providing efficient heat to the new pool heat exchangers at a SCOP of over 4.5 and are capable of heating the outdoor pool to over 30 degrees.
